PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. It applies to Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Who we are

F1inTO is a brand and event series of Culture Cartel Inc., an Ontario corporation carrying on business as Culture Cartel Live ("Culture Cartel", "we", "us", "our"), based in Toronto, Ontario.

F1inTO is a trade name and brand wholly owned and operated by Culture Cartel Inc. It is not a separate legal entity. Culture Cartel Inc. is the data controller for all personal information described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers

​

This policy applies to personal information collected through:

• the F1inTO website

• the F1inTO mobile application at go.f1into.ca

• F1inTO events, watch parties and activations

• F1inTO branded social media accounts

• ticketing, email, messaging and partner platforms we use, including Eventbrite, email service providers, Instagram and WhatsApp

 

3. What we collect

Identifiers and contact details. Name, email address, phone number, city and social handles if you share them.

Event and contest data. RSVPs, reservations, waitlist entries, attendance, contest entries, eligibility confirmations and skill testing question responses.

​

Preference and engagement data. Communication preferences, event history, interactions with our emails and content.

​

Usage and device data. Pages viewed, links clicked, general location, device and browser information, cookies and aggregated analytics.

Media. Photos and video captured at events, as described in our Terms & Conditions.

We collect this information directly from you when you submit a form, register, buy a ticket, enter a contest or message us, automatically when you use our website or app, and from the ticketing and platform partners we work with.

4. Why we collect it

​

We use personal information to:

• operate our website and app

• manage RSVPs, reservations and waitlists

• run events and manage capacity, entry and safety

• operate contests and giveaways, including winner verification

• send transactional messages such as confirmations and event changes

• send marketing communications where you have consented

• personalise content and improve our events and Services

• deliver offers, benefits and materials made available by our sponsors and event partners

• prevent fraud and abuse

• meet legal and regulatory requirements

5. Consent and CASL

By submitting a form, registering, entering a contest or participating in an F1inTO experience, you consent to the collection and use of your information for the purposes above, and to receiving electronic communications from us. That includes email, SMS and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, sent to any address, number or account you provide.

You can withdraw consent to marketing messages at any time using an unsubscribe link, replying STOP to any message, or writing to info@culturecartel.ca. We may still send essential transactional messages such as event confirmations.

6. Who we share it with

​

We share personal information with:

• Service providers, such as email, ticketing, analytics and cloud hosting providers, under contracts requiring confidentiality and limiting their use of the data to our instructions

• Venues, for operational and safety reasons such as capacity and entry management

• Sponsors and event partners, where needed to fulfil and deliver offers, benefits and materials made available to participants

• Authorities or third parties, where required by law

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Ownership of data

All information collected through the channels listed in Section 2 is collected, held and processed by and for Culture Cartel Inc. exclusively.

This includes, without limitation: personal information of subscribers and customers, email addresses, mailing lists, subscriber preferences, contact details, demographic information, transaction and ticketing records, customer relationship records, sponsor and partner data, analytics data, behavioural data, content uploaded or submitted by users, and all data derived from any of the above.

No other individual, partnership, contractor, volunteer or affiliated party has any ownership interest, licence, beneficial right or future claim to any of that data, regardless of any role they play or have played in the operation of F1inTO.

8. International transfers

​

Some of our service providers process data outside Canada. We use contractual, technical and organisational safeguards to protect it. While it is held in another country, it may be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country under their laws.

9. How long we keep it

​

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.

As a general guide:

• marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or become inactive

• event, ticketing and contest records are kept for up to five years unless the law requires longer

10. Your rights

 

You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or withdraw your consent to marketing.

To make a request or a complaint, contact our Privacy Officer at info@culturecartel.ca. We will respond within the timeframes set by PIPEDA.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Cookies and analytics

 

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used, including page performance and aggregate engagement. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

13. Minors

Our Services are intended for adults. Where a minor attends a family friendly event, a parent or guardian must register on their behalf and provide any personal information required. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change and material updates will be highlighted for a reasonable period.
